JOHN FRANCIS DANDRIDGE

John Francis Dandridge my 5x Great grandfather was a paper maker and agricultural labourer and was caught up in the “Swing Riots” of 1831 and the sentence of death hung over him. Granting of clemency by the king resulted in transportation instead.
This paper gives details of his life, family, work and the “Swing Riots” which resulted in his transport to Tasmania.
